We have used chef Sam Pope several times to cook for us for special occasion home dining for groups of 6-8. It has been an absolute pleasure and success on every occasion. His food is as good as it gets, but the experience is about more than nice food on a plate. Sam is outstanding at every stage - from the initial menu consultation and design, right through to tidying up the very last dish at the end of the meal. Guests love it when Sam talks them through the ingredients, preparation and characteristics of each dish. It’s all done in a very relaxed, good humoured and professional way that adds to the enjoyment of the occasion.

My vision for the evening was to host an event which felt like a luxury and a treat for the special people in my life. Sam was instrumental in the planning of the event and designed an exquiste menu which really delivered on my vision. Not only that he went above and beyond to organise a cocktail maker to really top off the experience. Moving to the Kapiti coast from the UK and wanting some quality food without having travel into Wellington we stumbled upon Sam's website. The first meal was fantastic and we have probably used Sam twice a year for the last seven or eight years for birthdays or when visitors come from overseas. He never fails to disappoint - we just wish we could use him more often!
